New York state is one step closer to going solar.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced this Earth Week that more than 30 megawatts of solar energy will be deployed throughout Upstate New York.

More than 75,000 solar panels will be installed – enough to power 7,000 homes. The state says this will reduce carbon emissions by 4,500 tons, and save the state $10 million in energy costs.
