Warren County is considering a major new cold weather attraction that will last all winter long and draw tens of thousands of visitors.

Organizers are calling it The Winter Experience, and it would take place at Fort William Henry in Lake George, December through March.

It would be a winter-themed nighttime park with lights, sound, video projection and shows.

Organizers are asking the Warren County Board of Supervisors to allocate $3 million to get it off the ground. That would be the largest single use of occupancy tax money in county history.

The Occupancy Tax Committee voted in favor Tuesday, so it now goes to the Finance Committee for approval.

Supporters estimate it would generate $8 million a year.
