State police stepping up drunken driving patrols for holiday weekend

New York state will be cracking down on drunken driving this holiday weekend.

The governor announced state police will be stepping up patrols.

State police will conduct sobriety checkpoints and will be targeting aggressive driving statewide.

The campaign is funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.

The crackdown begins 6 p.m. Friday and runs through 3 a.m. Tuesday.
