In a bid to recruit a larger, and more diverse group of candidates, the New York State Police is making a change.
The agency has now raised the maximum age to apply from 29 years old to 34 years old.
“There are many qualified candidates from the military or other careers who decide that they want to transition to the State Police, but because of the previous age requirement, some were not eligible,” Acting Superintendent Steven Nigrelli said.
