Niskayuna man admits to having sexual contact with child

A Niskayuna man has admitted to sexually assaulting a girl over a three-year period beginning when she was 8 years old.

Robert Miller, 50, pleaded guilty in Schenectady County Court on Tuesday to one count of course of sexual conduct against a child.

Prosecutors said that the sexual contact occurred in the town of Niskayuna between 2016 and the summer of 2019. Miller knew the child and was frequently alone with her.

Miller will be sentenced to 7 years in prison – the maximum sentence allowed by law for this crime – as part of a plea deal. He also must serve 10 years of post-release supervision and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 11.
