People came together in Niskayuna to help kids have a happy holiday season.

The town partnered with the Marine Corps to host its 15th annual Toys for Tots collection drive on Saturday.

The event saw boxes filled with stuffed animals, basketballs and other toys.

It is hosted in part by Sondra’s Fine Jewelry and Green Leaf Wellness.

“The support is very much needed this year, with the economy being what it is, and some families having to choose between groceries, and heat and gas, and toys,” said Sondra Stephens, with Sondra’s fine jewelry. “We really count on our wonderful community and the surrounding Capital District to support us.”

If you’d like to donate a toy, you can drop one off at Sondra’s Fine Jewelry until Christmas Eve. They are located at 1624 Union St. in Schenectady, inside Green Leaf Cannabis.
