North Adams Police chief placed on paid leave

North Adams Police Chief Jason Wood is on paid administrative leave.

It’s pending the results of an internal investigation, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle report.

The leave started March 8.

The issue being investigated is not criminal, the mayor told the paper.

Lieutenant Anthony Beverly is currently in charge of the department.
