North Adams police chief relieved of duty

The North Adams police chief has been relieved of duty.

Chief Jason Wood was put on paid leave March 8. We reported at the time that he was the subject of an internal investigation.

Now The Berkshire Eagle reports that he has been relieved of duty and that he will continue to be paid until his contract expires in June. According to the paper, the mayor of North Adams says she lost trust and confidence in Wood’s ability to lead the department.
