Police in North Greenbush are warning residents about a very active scam in the community.

Police there tell NewsChannel 13 it is the “Grandparent Scam”.

We have reported on this scam before: a caller will claim to be a grandchild saying they are in some legal trouble and need money sent to them immediately.

Police already have two reports of people showing up at homes to collect money from people.

If you get a call or already gave money, call the North Greenbush Police Station.

Do not offer any financial or personal information.
