NY road construction improves 1,500 miles of road, 2,800 bridges

More than 1,500 lane miles of state and local highways, and more than 2,800 bridges were improved in 2023, according to Gov. Hochul’s office.

These projects by the New York State Department of Transportation and Thruway Authority represented a more than $2.4 billion investment in New York’s roads and bridges.

There were 132 miles and 117 bridges improved in the Capital Region, according to Gov. Hochul’s office.
