NYRA Executive Chef Aaron McKay went to school to be a writer, and fell into cooking.

He never went to culinary school, and instead knocked on doors of restaurants in Chicago to get trained.

McKay is a cancer survivor. He took a break from the kitchen to get involved with a chain of board game cafés called Snakes & Lattes. Then NYRA called with this opportunity.

This is his second season at Saratoga Race Course.

Learn about how his unusual path led him to where he is today by watching the video of Subrina Dhammis story.
