NYSUT elects new president

The New York State United Teachers have elected a new president.
Melinda Person has been chosen to serve a three-year term for the union.
Person has served as NYSUT’s executive director and political director since 2019.
Person replaces Andy Pallotta, who retired.
NYSUT represents nearly 700,000 members statewide.
