Another vehicle has slammed into the infamous Glenridge Road bridge. An officer trying to help was then hit by a car.

It all started just before 8 a.m. Monday morning, police said.

They responded to the railroad overpass after a box truck lost its top from driving into the bridge.

The 28-year-old driver was ticketed for failing to obey overhead clearance signs.

A Jeep driving in the other direction from that truck had its windshield broken by flying debris.

A Glenville police officer parked behind the box truck with the emergency lights flashing, but as that officer was getting out of his car, he was hit by a Ford pickup truck driven by a 55-year-old woman.

That police officer injured his shoulder and was taken to Ellis Urgent Care.
