ONLY ON 13: Grandmother of toddler who was shot says she’s ‘shattered’ by trauma
Laurie Willis’ toddler grandson was mistakenly shot by his 6-year-old brother in Albany.
Willis is shattered by the trauma her family has faced these past few days, she said.
Police told NewsChannel 13 the injured toddler is 3, but Willis said he is 2.
The boy who accidentally shot him thought the gun he was playing with was a toy gun, which he grabbed from a bin of toys, Willis explained.
Thankfully, the 2-year-old is out of the hospital and recovering. However, there will be a long road of healing for the family.
There are currently no charges in the shooting.
