Opening statements concluded Tuesday in the trial of the Rensselaer man accused of killing an Albany woman in May 2022.

Iaeir Robinson, 27, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Ahsid Hemingway-Powell.

Hemingway-Powell was found dead in her apartment on Old Hickory Drive on May 28, 2022.

She had just graduated from UAlbany, and had wanted to become a physician assistant, her mom said.

Police have not disclosed a motive for the crime nor if a weapon was used.
