Documents: Rifle used in 2019 Amsterdam murder
Michael Darling used a rifle to kill his wife, Kristine, according to court documents tied to his arrest.
Darling is charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.
The alleged murder happened in 2019. Darling called 911 and said his wife committed suicide, investigators said.
Darling was named a person of interest in 2021. He then allegedly tried to flee police earlier this week after learning about the indictment, but was caught after a brief manhunt.
He was sent to the Montgomery County Jail without bail. His trial date is set for Oct. 23.
