Parachuting Santa returns to Ballston Spa

This Ballston Spa Santa wasn’t traveling by sleigh today.

This afternoon, Santa Claus and three of his elves parachuted from a plane to the Ellms’ Christmas Tree Farm.

He was greeted by a crowd of children that rushed him as soon as he landed.

The farm has been doing this for more than two decades, but they took a hiatus because of COVID. This is their first year back with a parachuting Santa.

Garth Ellms, owner of Ellms Christmas Trees, told us how magical it can be to see Santa with his new mode of transit:

“Seeing Santa come fly by you at, I don’t know, 50 mph, it’s just something that’s really cool, you know? It doesn’t matter if you are young or old.”
