The New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance said that applications for home heating help will be accepted starting Wednesday.

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) can provide up to $976 this winner.

The program is federally funded.

Eligible households can receive one regular benefit per season and one emergency benefit.
