People reminded not to feed deer, moose in NY

People in the Capital Region are being reminded not to feed deer.

Feeding deer and moose is illegal in New York state, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.

Feeding these animals can cause them to gather in urban areas where they don’t belong.

This can lead to more deer on the roads, which is a problem for drivers, the DEC said.

This comes amid recent reports of deer near the Cohoes Falls.
