A person is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Schenectady.

The crash happened around 5:45 Tuesday night at the intersection of Union Street and Seward Place.

The pedestrian was unconscious when police arrived, they said, and was taken to Albany Medical Center.

The driver of the car is cooperating with the investigation.
