PETA protests use of horses in ‘Gilded Age’ filming
Members of PETA gathered in Albany to protest the filming of the HBO series “The Gilded Age.” PETA supporters wearing horse masks slammed the production and their reliance on live horses.
The animal rights activists say a horse collapsed and died on the show’s Long Island set while filming a carriage scene in June.
PETA also claims horses aren’t being provided with adequate water or rest while being forced to pull carriages for long hours in scorching heat.
They are calling on HBO to ban the use of live horses in its productions.
