Pittsfield bank robbery suspect indicted by grand jury

The man accused of robbing a bank in Pittsfield in November has been indicted by a grand jury.

Christopher Oliveri of Milford pleaded not guilty to eight felony counts.

He walked into the NBT Bank on Merrill Road November 29, according to prosecutors.
Oliveri then held two employees at gunpoint, said investigators, before taking off with more than $140,000.

Oliveri had tools for a potentially violent act, according to the district attorney.

The case now heads to Berkshire Superior Court.

Oliveri is being held on $500,000 bail.
