Pittsfield man sentenced for breaking into home and assault

A Pittsfield man has learned his punishment after pleading guilty to breaking and entering and assault charges.

This was a violent attack.

Now Matthew Marauszwski will spend about a year behind bars.

The 32-year-old admits he broke into a home on Bartlett Avenue in Pittsfield in September 2021.
He kicked in the door and starting attacking someone inside.

Marauszwski was accused of having a box cutter.
The victim was not injured, Pittsfield Police said.
