An 84-year-old driver — who police say was speeding when she struck and killed a woman in a Pittsfield crosswalk — is facing criminal charges.

Lorraine Utter of Pittsfield was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court, in connection with the crash that killed Shaloon Milord.

Milord, 28, and her 3-year-old daughter, were hit on Jan. 30.

Not guilty pleas were entered on Utter’s behalf.

A conviction carries a penalty of a 15-year license suspension and up to 2.5 years in jail.
