Pittstown man accused of having ‘ghost gun’
State Police arrested a Pittstown man for allegedly having an illegal “ghost gun.”
Shawn P. Koenig, 20, was stopped on Tower Way in Halfmoon, shortly before 1:30 Saturday morning for a traffic violation.
Koenig refused to cooperate and exit his vehicle for sobriety field testing, police said.
He actively resisted arrest and was taken into custody.
Troopers found a loaded, unregulated gun with no serial numbers on the floor of the vehicle behind the driver’s seat.
Koenig was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He was also charged with obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and other vehicle and traffic violations.
He was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond.
