A proposed homeless shelter won’t be built near a private school in Saratoga Springs after all.
The shelter would have gone on Williams Street, right next to Spa Catholic.
It follows a community response, where more than 1,200 people signed a petition opposing the idea.
Staff from Shelters of Saratoga said they heard those community concerns, and have decided not to move forward with plans to set up a new shelter on Williams Street – next to Spa Catholic.
The non-profit says they’ve found a more viable option to operate their Code Blue services, and will be making that announcement soon.
