North Adams may soon have a hospital once again.

Berkshire Health Systems has unveiled a plan to reopen North Adams Regional Hospital, with 25 inpatient beds on a medical-surgical floor this winter, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.

The hospital has been closed for nearly 10 years.

The reopening would restore a hospital for 30,000 residents in the Northern Berkshires and Southwestern Vermont.
