Police: Albany man locked dogs in crate; One died and other was malnourished

An Albany man is accused of keeping two dogs in a crate for several weeks without food or water, causing one to die.

Andrew Pulliam, 32, allegedly locked two pit bulls in a crate at a residence on the 100 block of Lark Street, police said.  

Officers responded to the residence on Oct. 27 at about 9:20 p.m. When they arrived, they found one dog deceased and the other one suffering from emaciation and dehydration.

Pulliam has been charged with two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Nov. 10.
