Police: Amsterdam man caught with illegal gun

An Amsterdam man is facing charges, after police say he was caught with an illegal gun.

Christohper Delacruz, 35, was arrested Saturday morning at 1 a.m., police said.

They found Delacruz crouching in the middle of Guy Park Avenue – where he was almost hit by a car.

While police tried to interview him, he took off.

Police were eventually able to catch him. He had a gun with the serial number filed off, they said.

He was arrested, and is facing a list of charges.
