An Amsterdam man is accused of possessing child pornography.

John A. Duggan, 45, allegedly possessed images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed a search of his home on Wednesday. The investigation stemmed from a tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, State Police said.

Duggan was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.

He was arraigned in Amsterdam Town Court and sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $30,000 cash, $50,000 bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
