Police: Amsterdam McDonald’s employee stole $2,300

An Amsterdam woman has been arrested for allegedly stealing over $2,300 from McDonald’s when she worked there.

Police received a complaint last month that an employee at the restaurant on Market Street took cash and falsified deposit slips.

Surveillance footage showed Isalivette M. Serrano-Garcia, 22, concealed money in her personal belongings and falsified the bank slips, police said.

The business discovered the theft after an audit of a two-month period found that the accounts were short of funds.

The investigating officer located Serrano-Garcia, who confessed, police said.

She was charged with felony counts of forgery, grand larceny and falsifying business documents and a misdemeanor of conspiracy. She was arraigned in Amsterdam City Court and released on her own recognizance.

Montgomery County District Attorney Lorraine Diamond helped Amsterdam Police with the investigation.
