Police arrest Amsterdam man on drug, gun charges
Police have seized drugs, guns and two vehicles that were part of an Amsterdam man’s alleged drug trafficking operation.
Joshua J. Reyes-Gonzalez, 30, was arrested on Thursday after a lengthy investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Reyes-Gonzalez is accused of selling controlled substances to a police source on multiple occasions. A search of his second-floor apartment at 243 East Main St. found cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, fentanyl and amphetamines, police said.
Officers also found drug processing and packaging materials, a Glock-style ghost handgun, numerous high-capacity magazines, a rapid firing device and $11,000 in cash. They also took two vehicles associated with his drug trafficking operations, according to police.
Reyes-Gonzalez has been charged with five counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon – all felonies. He was also charged with a misdemeanor of criminal possession of a rapid-fire medication device.
Reyes-Gonzalez was arraigned and sent to Montgomery County Jail without bail.
