Police begin Halloween crackdown on reckless drivers

From now until Halloween, law enforcement is ramping up patrols to crackdown on impaired and reckless driving throughout the state.
According to AAA, Halloween is the deadliest day of the year for pedestrians under the age of 18.
New York State Police and local law enforcement will be out making sure everyone can enjoy Halloween without worrying about impaired drivers.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 72 people died in traffic crashes on Halloween in 2022. Alcohol was related in 46% of those crashes, they said.
