A Rotterdam driver is accused of hitting two pedestrians while drunk.

Antonio A. Marotta II, 28, hit the pedestrians at the intersection of Albany Street and Hulett Street around 10:15, last Wednesday evening, State Police said. He left the scene, but police found him a short time later on Craig Street.

Both pedestrians were taken to Ellis Hospital. They’re expected to be OK.

Marotta was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, driving while intoxicated and vehicle and traffic violations.

He was taken to the State Police station in Princetown, where he refused to take a blood alcohol test, police said. He was then taken to the Schenectady County Jail, pending arraignment.
