Police: Greene County woman took cash, drugs and car

A Greene County woman is accused of stealing guns and cash from a home and then stealing a car to leave the scene.

Heather L. Billingsley, 53, of Cairo, took multiple firearms and money from a residence in Esperance on Dec. 31, State Police said.

Billingsley, who knew the victim, allegedly entered the home without their knowledge and took the items before leaving in the stolen vehicle.

Police found the vehicle unoccupied in Colonie. The other items were not found, police said.

Billingsley was found in Troy and arrested. She was charged with two felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and misdemeanor petit larceny. She was taken to the Schoharie County Jail to await arraignment.
