State Police have identified the man hit and killed by an Amtrak train on Wednesday morning in Schodack.

Kevin J. Ackerman, 22, of Castleton on Hudson was hit just before 8:45 a.m. near the intersection of Hamilton Way and River Road.

The train immediately stopped and contacted emergency services.

Ackerman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
