Police: Illegal gun found during Fort Ann traffic stop

An illegal gun was found in a car stopped in Washington County on Monday evening, state police said.

The car was pulled over for traffic violations on state Route 4 in Fort Ann around 9:45 p.m.

Michael Eggleston, 23, of Northumberland — who was a passenger in the car — is now charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Besides the gun, an illegal high-capacity magazine was found, state police said.
