Police K9 veterans honored in Schenectady

To mark K9 Veterans Day on Monday, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara held an event to recognize police and rescue dogs from the Schenectady Police Department and the Schenectady and Montgomery County sheriff’s departments.
The state Assembly also put forth a resolution recognizing March 13 as K9 Veterans Day in New York state, honoring past and present service dogs for their valuable service and sacrifice.
Military and law enforcement canine units hold a rich part in American history, dating all the way back to World War II.
