Police: Man assaulted train conductor who wouldn’t let him smoke in Pittsfield

A man is accused of assaulting a train conductor with a wine bottle who refused to let him smoke a cigarette during a stop in Pittsfield, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported.

Wesley Quinn, 37, of Ireland, had been riding an Amtrak train. When the train approached a stop in Pittsfield, Quinn asked a conductor about getting off to smoke a cigarette.  However, the conductor said no, and told him he could take his smoke break in Rensselaer, where there’s a longer station stop. This made Quinn “confrontational,” according to police.

Quinn is charged with assault and battery, and disorderly conduct.
