Police: Man choked woman to unconsciousness in Clifton Park
CLIFTON PARK – A Clifton Park man is facing charges after police said he choked a woman to the point of unconsciousness.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check call on Huntridge Drive in the town of Clifton Park on Thursday at 11:13 p.m. Police said Matthew D. Sand, 28, injured the woman by applying pressure to her neck to obstruct her breathing or blood circulation, according to a news release.
Sand was charged with a felony count of strangulation and misdemeanor assault. He was arraigned in Malta Town Court and released to pretrial services pending further action in the matter.
