Police: Man climbed through window of Malta residence, stabbed woman

A Saratoga Springs man is accused of climbing through a window of a residence and stabbing a woman in the arm.

George S. Tinoco, 48, went into the home on Knabner Road in the town of Malta around 12:45 a.m. on January 12, investigators said. He didn’t have permission to be there, investigators said.

A child was there when the stabbing happened, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said.

Tinoco was charged with felony first-degree burglary and misdemeanors of possession of burglar’s tools and endangering the welfare of a child.

The victim was taken to Saratoga Hospital by EMS for evaluation and treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

Tinoco was arrested on Jan. 16 after he was released from Albany Medical Center. He had been there for self-inflicted injuries.

He was arraigned in Malta Town Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of bail or bond.
