Police: Man on e-bike struck by car while fleeing in Schenectady
A wanted man on an e-bike was hit by a car Tuesday evening while trying to flee police.
The man was wanted for traffic violations after riding away from officers on Monday. Officers spotted the bike traveling in the area of Franklin Street and Nott Terrace just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
He rode into traffic on Veeder Avenue to try and escape and was hit.
The man was taken to Albany Medical Center. Police don’t know his current condition, they said. He was expected to be ticketed after being released.
Police are not releasing the name of the bicyclist pending notification of the family and because it is an open investigation.
The driver is cooperating.
