A Troy man is accused of intentionally setting his home on fire.

Blaise C. Lanni, 66, was charged with third-degree arson in connection with the fire on Sunday at 292 3rd Ave.

Firefighters responded to the residence at about 6 p.m. for a reported structure fire. Troy firefighters worked for several hours to contain the blaze. No one was injured, according to a news release from the Troy Police Department.

After an investigation, police determined that the fire was suspicious and Lanni started it. He was brought to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.

Assistant Chief of Police Steve Barker said investigators are working to determine a motive by corroborating information they have received.

Lanni was arraigned Monday morning in Troy City Court and released. He is due back in court on Oct. 3.
