A man from Pittsfield is in jail for allegedly having an illegal gun.

Massachusetts State Police pulled over Jordan Perez, 33, early Sunday morning, for not having a proper inspection, police said.

When they asked Perez to pour out the beer he had, they found a gun in the car. Perez had that handgun without a license, they said.

Perez had a warrant for failing to appear in court last March for an assault case, the paper reports.

He pleaded not guilty on Monday, and is scheduled to be back in court in June.
