Police: Queensbury woman extorted money by threatening to make false claim of sex assault
A Queensbury woman is accused of extorting money by threatening to make a false claim that the person sexually assaulted her.
Teesha Bapp, 35, was charged with third-degree grand larceny.
State Police said this stemmed from a complaint by a Washington County that they were being exhorted. Bapp was able to entice the person to give her more than $3,000 during June and July 2004, according to police.
Bapp was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment Court and released on her own recognizance.
