Police: Rensselaer County man cut person with knife

A Rensselaer County man is accused of cutting a person with a knife.

Nelson G. Simon, 57, of Melrose, got into a fight with a victim at home in Melrose on Feb. 13 at around 8:45 p.m., said police, then cut the victim.

The victim has a minor injury.

Simon was charged with second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. He was arraigned in Hoosick Town Court and sent to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash, a $10,000 bond or $20,000 partially secured bond.
