Rensselaer man arrested on child pornography charges

A Rensselaer man is facing child pornography charges. Sean Hood, 49, is accused of having and promoting images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

State Police have arrested a 30-year-old Rensselaer County man for allegedly possessing child pornography.

Thomas Jackson, of Averill Park, is accused of possessing over 19,000 images consistent with child exploitation. The investigation stemmed from a tip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Jackson was arrested at his home on Monday. He was charged with promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, possessing a sexual performance by a child and promoting a sexual performance by a child. He was arraigned in Sand Lake Town Court and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $15,000 bond.
