Police: Salem man threatened to shoot person during road rage incident

A Salem man is accused of threatening a person with a gun during a road rage incident.

State Police Mark E. Mattison, 56, was driving aggressively on County Route 31 in Hebron on the morning of Nov. 17. The other driver pulled over and Mattison allegedly displayed what appeared to be a gun and threatened to shoot the victim. The people in the other vehicle left the scene and contacted 911.

Mattison was arrested at his home. He was charged with second-degree menacing. Mattison was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Hebron Town Court on Dec. 16.
