Police: Schenectady County woman tried to cash stolen check
A Schenectady County woman is accused of trying to cash a check police said she stole from a business.
State Police received a complaint in October from a Schenectady business reporting that a check the company issued had been taken. An investigation determined that Elizabeth Dolder, 50, stole the check and modified it in an attempt to endorse it, State Police said.
Dolder allegedly tried to cash that check at a Rotterdam financial institution in September.
Further investigation discovered she possessed an additional stolen and forged check which she attempted to cash at a Niskayuna financial institution in October 2023, police said.
Dolder was charged with two counts of forgery, two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
Dolder was arrested at her Duanesburg home and transported to a State Police station in Princetown for processing. She was issued an appearance ticket and is due in town courts in Rotterdam and Niskayuna at later dates.
