Police: Schenectady man charged in connection with Albany shooting

A Schenectady man has been arrested in connection with a shooting from September.

Albany Police responded to the area of North Manning Boulevard and Third Street at around 9:45 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a man with a gun during a domestic incident. Officers found Devonte Dent, 23, who had a loaded .44 caliber revolver, police said.

Dent is also accused of shooting a 19-year-old man in the thigh on Sept. 10 around 5:15 a.m. in the area of Bradford Street and Quail Street.

Dent was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and false personation in the domestic incident and second-degree attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief in the shooting.

Dent was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Monday morning and sent to Albany County Jail.
